About half a year ago I tried to get hired by our company's design office in Japan. I used all the connections available (not many), in all languages, but it didn't pan out.
A week ago a guy comes from there for training. I knew nothing about it untill a friend (the one who's doing the training) calls me and asks for help on this one question. So I come into the room, they are digging pretty deep there, I join. Eventually the guy from Japan and I strike a friendship, as I'm the only japanophone in the building. Suddenly, in a couple of days, there's all this talk about coming to work in Japan.
So where does the Murphy's law come in? That time half a year ago, a friend told me: "You want to get hired in Japan? Try to buy a house." And so I just bought one ...
